Xaine
|
Tenderness and time are essential to earning Xaine’s trust. As a former stray, he’s still fearful of loud noises and unexpected movements, and will swiftly seek out the comfort of his crate. But thanks to his two doggy foster friends, he’s been gaining in confidence daily, faithfully following their lead, so that now he loves playing with them in the backyard before cuddling up close to them to rest. More at ease as well with his fosters, he now greets them each morning with a huge, happy tail wag, and especially enjoys being petted and having his head scratched. He also enjoys keeping them amused by the way he rolls on his back all the way across the couch, tossing pillows off as he goes! Learning to play fetch and tug-o-war, he’s famously fond of dog treats and squeaky toys, running and rolling around in the grass, napping in the sunshine, and hiding the “treasures” (from dog toys to shoes) he collects inside his crate. Highly food motivated, eager to please and easy to teach, he’s at work on “sit”, and on his leash walking skills. Now for sweet Xaine to thrive, he’s best suited to a patient, nurturing home with a securely fenced yard, perhaps with a mild-mannered doggy companion or calm, dog-savvy children to bolster his confidence, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him well loved and well exercised always. Xaine is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Xaine, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. |
