Wendy wins hearts wherever she goes! Rescued from Central Valley SPCA, she may have a slight limp in her left hind leg, but that neither stifles her spirit nor slows her steps. Sweet and social, she’s cuddliest when calmest, snuggling with her foster mom on the sofa, napping beside her, and, at the very least, ensuring they’re in the same room together. Famously fond of comfortable places to cuddle, she especially enjoys the softness of bean bag chairs, comforters and doggy beds. Easygoing enough that she allows her foster mom to groom her (brushing, bathing and nail clipping with the help of some treats), she likes her toothpaste but hasn’t yet had her teeth brushed. Percolating with puppylike pep, she loves playing with toys and balls, relishes rousing games of fetch when in the right mood, and LOVES going on long walks and hikes. Always friendly towards the people and other dogs she meets along the way, she gets extremely excited when she sees someone familiar, jumping around, barking in excitement and covering them in kisses. Constantly curious about the world around her, she’ll even stop during her walks simply to observe people walking by. Doing well on car rides, she loves sitting in her foster mom’s lap, making a car seat a must, and being extremely food motivated, she loves her food puzzles and her lick mat with peanut butter, high value treats like dehydrated chicken, bone marrow, beef knee caps and rawhides, and canned chicken mixed in with her kibble. Growing more accustomed to being left alone, she currently knows “sit”, “wait” and “no”, is both leash and house trained and at work on her crate training. Now, with her whole life to live, wonderful Wendy will make an ideal companion for a loving home that will perfect her puppyish manners, bolster her confidence, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever.
