Tootsie is ready to claim your lap and your heart! She’s a sweet and gentle 8-year-old, 20-pound Chihuahua mix that has overcome a rough start in life after being rescued from a shelter in San Jose. Now that she has been given a second chance at life, this mellow girl is as good as they come. She is leash trained, potty trained, crate trained and even knows how to sit! She likes to bury herself in pillows, can twirl on command and likes to play with her toys. She does well with dogs of all sizes and currently lives in a foster home with a large and small dog and two teenagers. Tootsie will do best in a calm home environment as she is quite mellow (no small children). Tootsie is an independent little lady and will happily sleep in her crate, or in random places around the house and she loves to sleep-in. She also loves to cuddle and is therefore a great companion dog with a super soft coat. She is not generally a barker, shows no signs of aggression towards other humans, dogs or food. Although she is on the plumper side, she can be a picky eater so she is looking for an adopter that will be willing to help her find her favorite food. Tootsie takes a minute to warm up to new people but she adjusted to her current foster home very quickly. Can you give this sweet dog the loving home she deserves?
