Teddy
|
Teddy is a 3-year-old long haired chihuahua. We rescued Teddy from a hoarder’s house in Modesto, CA together with 7 other dogs. Although he started out extremely fearful of humans, Teddy has come a long way since then, and he blossomed into a normal playful dog. Despite overcoming his anxieties, he still had medical issues he had to overcome. It began when he started having seizures, they were incredibly painful to watch. His muscles would go spastic and it became difficult to breathe, all the while he was crying out in pain. Fortunately, after trying many different medications and dosages he is now seizure free for 2 months!
Unfortunately, that wasn’t his only problem. He was again brought to the vet due to the fact he has been having difficulty with walking and was slowly progressing. The vet diagnosed him with bilateral subluxating patella (dislocates kneecaps). Because this has been progressing, he is now at the point of needing surgery to repair both knees. Teddy has gone from a normal playful dog to a dog that is in constant pain and unable to walk. Without this surgery, his quality of life is very poor. Despite his constant pain, Teddy still is able to show his sweet demeanor and still asks for tons of attention from his foster mom. Teddy is still a young pup with so much energy to give. He has had a lot of challenges at a very young age but he is a fighter. We would like to give him all the opportunities to enjoy life and live long as he has still so much to offer. Please consider donating towards Teddy’s surgical procedure and help give him a chance to walk and live his life to the fullest! |
