Stark is estimated to be 4 years old. He currently weighs 50lbs but is underweight. The shelter thinks he is an Australian cattle dog mix.
Within an hour of being at his foster home, they discovered he already knew how to sit, lay down, go to bed, army crawl, go to his crate, stay, and leave it. He also knew how to catch treats!
He is totally unfazed by dogs and cats walking past his yard unless they seem interested in him. He even came face to face with a deer and was interested but not aggressive! He has done great when his foster parents have guests over. He is unbothered by the resident pups in the home. He does not seem to have any preference between male and female humans.
Stark’s foster parents haven’t heard him bark although he does whine occasionally when he wants a treat or some attention. He prefers to be alongside them during the day but when they are inside or in another room he calmly and quietly waits for them.
He is to house trained and crate trained. Stark could use some help with his leash manners. He loves going on walks but he is a big boy and gets excited with all the new smells. He has done great on car rides.
Overall Stark seems to be the ideal mix between gentle and playful. He is a bit clumsy while being curious and sweet as can be.
Stark is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Stark, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
