Roxy
|
Roxy came from a situation where the owner suddenly passed away. The spouse could not support all the animals so Roxie was given up. She is a Labrador mix with cattle dog who weighs about 65 pounds or more. Her prior owner indicated that she is not good with cats and will go after them. The family did have some young adult children but not small children in the household. Since in foster care, Roxy has gotten along great with other large dogs. She barked and lunged at a couple of the small dogs. We would advise careful introductions to unknown small dogs as she is very strong. Roxy does respond to most commands and wants to please. She does growl at strangers. She does walk on a leash but pulls at times and could use more positive reinforcement. Roxy is an alpha female with a strong personality. She plays vigorously and gets grumpy if other dogs are too close to her food bowl. We would recommend that she has a partner that is as strong and active as she is. Feed separately. Roxie is very active and likes to play and run. A large amount of exercise is imperative as well as a secure yard. Except for some basic obedience and leash walking basics, Roxy will make a nice dog for most homes that have experience with large dogs. She will be devoted and protective when she bonds and feels secure in her new home. Roxy is spayed and up to date on vaccines. To adopt Roxy, fill out an application. |
