Reba the red-haired beauty is ready for a loving home! She has been through so much and has really made great strides. Initially, she was a stray at the shelter hidden in the corner, no eye contact, shaking in fear, horrified at the presence of a human. What caused this reaction? Was it prior abuse? Was it no socialization with people? We will never really know for sure! She is only 1 ½ years old, she is good in the house with little history of accidents, sleeps on a cushy bed inside, is active and playful with other dogs and gets along with kitties as well. She weighs 20 pounds, is very healthy and has a desire for a loving and patient person to call her own. Reba is still fearful and hesitates to be touched. She walks on a leash but will pull back and get nervous quickly. She likes her face and neck scratched but when going to her limbs and body she really gets scared. She does not bite or act out aggressively. The preferred adopter would have prior dog experience, a quieter home setting, children over 6 years with some experience on how to act around scared dogs, and a securely fenced yard for lots of play time. If you need a wonderful beautiful dog to become your new family member, Reba is a gem! With patience and TLC she will be the best experience ever. Reba is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Reba, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. |
