Patience and tenderness are key to earning Quella’s trust and winning her heart. As she’s settled into her foster home, this cream and caramel cutie has found that petting is pleasant and has grown increasingly eager for affection. Revealing more of her sweet and playful nature, she now runs excitedly to her foster mom in the hopes of receiving even more attention, paw-lease. While she hasn’t yet shown any interest in toys or playing fetch, she’s exceedingly curious and enjoys climbing up to high places to survey the surroundings below. She also enjoys going for walks where she stops and stares at the people she passes (she is, however, fearful of the other dogs she meets). Fond of sleeping on the top of the couch and on tables and chairs, she’s not especially food motivated, but she does like treats and accepts them all gently. She remains calm when brushed, while she’s not a fan of baths, and she’s always crated during car rides. Taken outside to potty three times a day, she’s diligently at work on her leash skills. Clearly someone’s abandoned pet, she doesn’t yet know any commands while her fear of further abandonment leads her to bark at night and when she’s left alone. And so, what sweet Quella needs now is a quiet home without other dogs, and adopters to patiently bolster her confidence and complete her training, including her commands, in exchange for her own enduring loyalty and love. Quella is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Quella, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. |
