Qais
|
Time, tenderness and treats are key to earning the trust of gentle and quiet Qais. Once his patient fosters won that trust, he finally revealed his sweet, loving and playful nature. Now, he loves being scratched under his collar, having his bum rubbed, cuddling with his fosters at night when it’s cold and burrowing under the covers to keep warm. If he’s above the covers, they sometimes put a squeaky toy under them and he enjoys trying to find it. His favorite game is “booping” – when he gently bumps things with his nose – and when he’s excited, he not only has a surprisingly loud bark but he prances about like a happy little horse. He also loves snuggling with his doggy foster siblings, deferring gracefully to them a great deal, despite being larger than they are, and when visitors come by, he’ll typically keep his distance and observe. Especially fond of several of his toys, he likes playing with them and taking them outside to put into a pile. Gentle when taking treats (his favorite is Pupperoni), and highly food motivated, he caught on quickly to the commands “sit”, “down” and “outside” when suitably rewarded, and while he’s not a fan of cats or his crate, he knows how to get in and out of it, and has yet to be leash trained. Now all Qais needs is a patient and loving home to earn his trust, win his heart, and complete his training, including his commands, in exchange for his own enduring loyalty and love. Qais is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Qais, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. |
