Lady is a small dog 8-10 lbs, possibly a long-haired dachshund maybe some sheltie mixed in. Lady is very timid at first, she will take a while for her personality to really shine. She loves walks & treats; though she will not take a treat from your hand at first. After the first of couple weeks she started taking treats from our hands. Lady trusts men far more than she does women. Right away my husband could sit down and pet her. She only lets him put the harness on her for walks. I have a video of how he puts a harness on her. She also lets him give her a bath, in shower, and hold her to get her nails trimmed. While she does follow me around and sit next to me on the couch and pet her, she prefers men. She no longer flinches when I reach out and she likes a good pet though not too much eye contact. If you move quickly or reach down from standing she goes scampering. It took several weeks for her to go in and out of the door with confidence but she does now. She is submissive to other dogs prefers to have another dog show her the ropes of what to do. Lady does great with our 11 year old son, but he does know to move more slowly and does not try to push he for attention. She does sleep at the foot of his bed. I’m not sure how she would do with younger kids, they may just move to quickly and she would run from them. Lady has been here for about a month, her tail is up wagging all the time, she plays with our other dog, dog toys and she tries to get the cats to play with her, they are not impressed but not scared either. Lady is not a chewer, but she does like treats and dog chews. She does bark at squirrels. Lady has a sweet personality and just needs patience to let it show.
