Joyce

Joyce adds joy to her foster home simply by her presence! The former stray, so sweet, easygoing, and calm, thrives on their mutual admiration society of affection, loves being petted and having her belly rubbed by her fosters, cuddling with them during the day and sleeping near them at night. While she relishes the companionship of the resident children, she’s only mildly curious about the other dogs and would, in all likelihood, chase cats! She likes treats and bones and is happily food motivated, accepting her treats – especially cookies – gently, and knows to “sit” for them. Disinterested in chew or squeak toys, she doesn’t fetch and doesn’t like having her face touched. A well-mannered miss, she never barks, is both leash and house trained and is indifferent to car rides. Although she doesn’t enjoy baths, she sits still when she’s bathed in the tub, and is good about being brushed. Sometimes territorial at mealtime, she often needs coaxing to eat her food (her favorite is now ORIJEN kibble) or has to be fed by hand. Diagnosed with a connective tissue tumor in her hind area that doesn’t seem to cause her any discomfort or pain, she also has a grade 5 heart murmur that doesn’t stop her from being the cuddliest of cuties. Joyce is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Joyce, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. |
