Jerome
|
Time and patience are key to earning Jerome’s trust, freeing his true loving nature. Having grown more accustomed to life in his foster home, he now loves sitting next to his fosters on the couch (his favorite place of all), receiving long, gentle pets on the back and chest, hugs and kisses on the head. Still wary of strangers, he feels most comfortable in the company of other dogs, especially enjoys wrestling and playing with his foster sister, and being somewhat submissive, he willingly gives up his chew toys if another dog wants it. He also loves going for walks (if he trusts the person leading him, he’s excellent on a leash), taking naps in the sun and looking out the window at the world outside. Highly motivated by treats, accepting them gently he currently knows “sit”, “down”, “no”, and “come”, but responds only sporadically, is almost fully house trained with frequent outdoor breaks, and would benefit from being crate trained (he likes retreating to a quiet place all his own). With much still to learn and so much potential, Jerome will do best in a patient home, perhaps with another doggy playmate, that will bolster his confidence, complete his training, including his commands, and ensure he feels safe and well loved fur-ever. Jerome is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Jerome, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. |
