HUMPHREY
Humphrey is just the sweetest boy ever. He will do best in a home with another small dog for him to feel comfortable- but this is not a requirement. Humphrey was rescued from a hoarder’s house in Modesto along with 7 other dogs and has been through a lot. Humphrey feels intimidated by large dogs and small children and shows signs of aggression when put in situations with them. He loves to be pet and cuddle with you and will make himself right at home on your lap. He wants to be with his people at all times and will follow you around the house. For this reason, he will make an amazing companion dog. He does not enjoy being in a crate or being left alone – it causes him anxiety (he will cry while you are gone) which is why another dog is recommended to comfort him. He will want to sleep in the bed with you (he is very good at staying in one place and not taking up too much room). Humphrey is very polite, eats well, and loves a good routine. He does not beg, bark or whine (unless put in a crate- or left home alone). Although he is approximately 4 years old, he LOVES to play! He loves to play fetch with toys (he is very good at it), go for walks and receive belly rubs & snuggles. He is doing really well at house training and never has accidents anymore, but when placed in a new environment he may have a few accidents so please be patient with him as he adjusts to a new home. Humphrey does not tug on the leash (unless he sees another dog) and does really well on walks. Humphrey is very social and just wants to be loved. He will do best in a home where the owners are home most of the time and can give him LOTS of attention. Humphrey should not be let off leash as he will run away (it’s a game to him) so always keep a good eye on him so he does not run away or sneak out the front door. Humphrey has been in foster care since March 15th and recently had a dental cleaning where he had three teeth removed. Humphrey is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Please fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch soon. |
