charritos
Charritos is an 11 year old Dumpling Dog better known as a chubby chi. And although Charritos is as blind as a bat, assuming the bat has only minimal eye sight, it doesn't stop him from from wandering wherever his nose takes him even though he has no idea where he is going, or how to find his way back. Charritos is an adventurer! In fact, you will notice that despite his age, he still has a spring in his step, a strut in his stride, and some spunk in his spirit. Charritos has attitude! And while he does love his long naps, he also loves to sit on your lap and get a body massage, or play fight with you where he play attacks your fingers to show you he can still be ruthless despite being harmless.
Charritos isn't a big fan of having dog buddies. He tends to want to keep them at a distance from him and he does it by becoming crazy, out of control Charittos. It's an Oscar worthy performance that reminds you just how talented this dog is! And then there are cats.... Charritos LOVES cats! He loves to chase them if he can figure out where they ran. He loves to sniff them. He loves to stick his nose under the chair where they are hiding, and loves to get his nose swatted when he does. He thinks that's great fun. Bottom line: Charittos is the one who will need protection from the cats, not the other way around and he truly does love cats. So why does he have to find a new home? He was rescued from a kill shelter after his owners dumped him there to die. So much for being man's best friend. And while this boy is old and has bad eyes, he is remarkably healthy and still has a passion for life; and eating. (There isn't a food Charritos doesn't like.) We felt this boy deserved to be able to live his remaining years in a home where he is cherished and loved. Charritos is neutered, up to date with shots, and microchipped for easy identification in case he goes on an adventure and gets lost. All he needs now is to find someone to want him. He's got plenty of adventures left to go. Give him a chance and you will fall hopelessly in love with him. |

snaggle
Snaggle was brought to the shelter by emergency services after he, and 7 other dogs were found with their dead owner. The owner had died four days earlier. The other 7 dogs were rescued but Snaggle was left alone and terrified at the shelter. He had to be hospitalized for dehydration as he hadn't eaten or had access to any amount or water while he waited for someone to discover his owner. Snaggle is now in a foster home. And while he has started to be less fearful, he still starts out very shy and scared when meeting new people. We think that even when his owner was alive , he got very little love and attention. He wasn't familiar with being held and didn't know what it meant when he was held. And although he wanted to approach the foster, he held back because he didn't know what would happen if he did approach them. Snaggle has begun to discover the world around him and is gradually starting to feel secure in his surroundings. He has latched I to his foster dad like glue as he has become his sense of security. Snaggle has expressive eyes that draw you in and haunt you. This is a dog you automatically feel a need to love and especially protect. He is going to need an owner who is patient enough to give him time to discover he is safe with you in his new home. And he needs an owner who will never ever abandon him or give him away. Snaggle gets along with other dogs and does okay with older children but the ideal home would be one where he gets a lot of love and attention by an adult who has time to just be with him. Snaggle is a dog you will be drawn to just by seeing how unsure he is in a new environment. He will look to you for reassurance. But you will never find a dog more gentle or innocent. Snaggle just wants what all dogs want: to be loved and belong to someone forever. No dog deserves that more than this little guy. If you want to have an intimate, relationship with a dog who needs you more than you will ever know, adopt Snaggle. He will bring you more joy than you thought possible.
