Dewey
|
Most content in the company of his fosters, Dewey is cuddly and sweet, loves sitting on their laps and sleeping cuddled up with them at night. He also loves playing fetch and tug-o-war with his fosters and other friendly dogs (once the proper introductions are made), and being moderately energetic, he enjoys several play sessions or brief walks a day before settling down for a nap. Fond of bully sticks, pieces of meatball, rope toys, stuffed toys to shred and balls to play fetch, he accepts all treats gently but tends to resource guard both his food and his toys. Almost fully leash and crate trained, he knows “sit” and “wait (during walks) and “up” (he stands up on his hind legs), and is house trained. Wary of strangers and reactive towards people he sees on their walks, he wears a muzzle in public as a precaution, and should he be petted too much or in spots he’s not fond of, he’s been known to bite. For these reasons, he’s best suited to a nurturing adult-only home to patiently address and work through these issues with this cuddliest of dogs so that he can bloom into the best paws-ible Dewey he can be. Dewey is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Dewey, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. |
