Famously fond of people of all ages, she’s extremely food motivated and will eagerly approach strangers if they’re holding some tasty treats – especially string mozzarella cheese, her favorite! A devoted fan of her doggy foster brother, she greets him, grinning, with tail wags and kisses, but she does guard her treats -- particularly bones – from him and other canines coming by. In fact, she fares best with new dogs when meeting them on neutral ground, provided their introductions are gradual and her personal space is respected.
She may be missing her left hind leg (it was amputated due to a poorly healed break from puppyhood), but it neither stifles her spirit nor slows her step, and while she’s still hesitant about walking on a leash, she’s become more comfortable wearing a harness. Fully potty trained indoors, she currently prefers pottying in the yard, and is best suited to a loving family either as the only pet or in one who will gradually introduce her to their current pet(s), perfect her leash training and complete her doggy education.
Carol is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Carol, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
