BRENDA
Brenda is a senior Poodle-mix and is not your typical dog. She is reserved and hesitant to human touch. She currently does not respond to auditory stimuli, does not seem to know her name, and is mostly independent and away from people. She has a good walk - she might be slow, but she likes to pace our dog run back and forth. Independent is what I would call her. She walks on a leash slowly but very well, and understands potty breaks. She can go on the pee pad and will if she needs to, but does seem to love the outdoors - I caught her smelling the wind outside from my window :). She is good and polite to all dogs we met so far and does OK with cats, though cats can startle her since she can't see well. With limited vision and probably limited (if not zero) hearing, Brenda wants to take everything little by little. The ideal home for her would be a home with only grownups (I don't think she'll handle chaos of young families) and a family that preferably will have a backyard or a balcony for her to pace. The apartment building with no yard immediately outdoors can lead to accidents for her, and I think she'd enjoy being able to take naps outdoors as well as indoors. Brenda will be spayed soon, is up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Please fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch soon. |
