Bear is the unfortunate victim of decisions made during the pandemic that didn't match the changing realities in some people's lives. Although he is only 10 months old, he's been through FOUR changes already. First, he was relinquished to a shelter as a very young puppy, second he was adopted, third he was given to a friend of the original adopter, then that person couldn't keep him either.....so he is now in foster care awaiting what he deserves to be his last stop and forever home. You would think all of that instability would have made him a bit cranky, but actually with this dog the opposite has happened - he has instead become very thankful and happy for whomever his caretaker is, and easy to integrate into new surroundings. He doesn't resource guard, he doesn't mark his new surroundings, he really doesn't have an aggressive or territorial bone in his body. The videos show him playing with dogs he JUST MET! You can see he does well with any sized dog! In the pics you can also see he is always smiling. Such a happy go lucky boy! He could care less about cats, he doesn't have a strong prey drive like some dogs might. He just lets them be. Bear does really love other dogs as well as people, so a home with more than one person or a home where he might have a doggy playmate if there is only one person would be ideal. He is still a puppy, so he will need to burn his puppy energy every day, just like any other puppy would. That said he is a SOLID puppy, so if you have very small children, you should be experienced with dogs if you are interested in Bear. Occasionally that puppy exuberance still comes spilling out and a wee one could be accidentally bumped. Bear loves to walk, play on the beach, chase balls, socialize, snuggle, and generally just be part of an active family. More than anything else, he'd love to get off of the merry-go-round he's been on, and settle into his forever home as soon as possible, so he can start his new life. Bear is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. If YOU are that person or family that can take Bear off the merry-go-round once and for all and you would like to meet or adopt Bear, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. Fosters Note 1) There is absolutely nothing wrong with this dog - he is a healthy, happy, loving, absolutely beautiful and a delight!!! 2) We have 4 dogs already, or we would keep this lovely dog for ourselves. |
