Let's talk about Allie...a potty trained, quiet, sweater wearing, respectful, goofy eared, spotted, mystery mutt. Some say she's terrier and Dalmatian, or maybe Italian greyhound and rat terrier, but we really don't know. Allie is a rescue dog who had been with the same family for the last 12 years, along with 2 other dogs. She was the love of her mama's life, but a couple years ago her life changed when her human mama had a human baby of her own and now another one, so Allie wasn't getting as much attention as she was used to. Then an unfortunate change in her family's circumstances and a move out of state forced the family to give up Allie and her two buddies. It was a sad situation all around, the other dogs found homes, and Allie ended up in foster care through Rescue the Underdog.
Allie is the perfect dog. She's 12 years young and seriously, don't let her age fool you, she is still full of life and love. This healthy pup has a lot of life left, and at 18 pounds, she's the perfect size! She can keep up with the best of them, loves walks but is also a couch potato! Allie lives with a teeny chihuahua and a large Pittie mix and she's a standout for ideal behavior. She is a little princess who loves attention and seeks it out regularly. She will jump up on your lap or snuggle up right next to you. Sometimes when you're petting her and stop, she will look right at you and give you a quite little woof telling you she wants more...with her big floppy ears, it's hard to deny her!
Allie loves to hop on the couch, get cozy in her blankets and will be your best friend if you let her under your covers! She will burrow to the very bottom to be as warm as possible...and Zzzzzzzz she's fast asleep. She loves having jackets/sweaters on in the winter, but likes to bare it all in the summer...she's a sunbathing beauty!
Allie is great with other dogs, not a huge fan of cats. She is so good with other dogs that she has been "borrowed" by other foster families to help their new dogs learn the ropes! Although her previous family had kids of all ages, she prefers a home without the chaos of small kids...she lives with preteens and does just fine. She loves walks, she'll show off her prance! She's not a huge barker, will alert when someone is at the door but then goes right back to relaxing!
She is fully potty trained, NEVER has accidents!! In fact a funny potty fact about Allie...she's scared of her own poop (or so we say) because she always runs from it! ;)
Allie is ready to give love and be loved! Allie has been spayed, is up to date with vaccines, and has been microchipped. If you'd like to know more about Allie, fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch shortly.
