Ulysses
Ulysses is a very cute, handsome terrier mix. He is young and definitely has a playful side to him… he just loves to play with other dog friends and toys. He is shy, and would do well with a confident dog buddy who could act as a mentor. He may like a yard as well, since he’s got some energy to burn and loves to run around!
He was likely under-socialized as a pup, so he initially spent his first couple weeks out of the shelter in hiding, but he now enjoys being petted and cuddled by his foster parents. He is leery of being touched by strangers, but will take treats from guests. Luckily, he’s SUPER food motivated and will put on a brave face when he’s rewarded with yummy treats! He has come a long way in 2 months and continues to make progress every day.
He enjoys walks along familiar, quiet streets and loves being out in nature. He’s working on leash manners and may react to other dogs on walks, but he’s already showing improvement. The great thing about him is that he is so eager to learn… he just wants to be a good boy! He’s a smart dog who knows a few basic commands and is working on others.
Inside he’s a quiet pup who rarely barks… and when excited he will do a cute 360 degree tail wag! He loves squeaky toys or something fun to chew on. He would thrive with a family who is able to engage him daily mentally and physically.
Ulysses would do best in a quiet, adult only home or a home with older children. He would probably be okay with a dog-friendly cat. Positive reinforcement is the key to his socialization and success. With lots of love, patience, guidance and treats, Ulysses has the potential to blossom into an awesome pup!
