luke- ADOPTED
Meet Luke!!! He is a very sweet 6 yr old whippet mix who is looking for his very best friend! He was surrendered to the shelter by his former “owner” to be euthanized, for no apparent reason. Luke deserves better than that!
While Luke may not have had the best past, he has a very bright future! Luke has a lot of energy for fun walks and chasing toys, but is also very content to laze around in bed or curl up next to you on the couch. He is super cute and weighs in at a little under 30 lbs.
Luke’s ideal situation is in a home where someone is home a lot, or if he can go with you on your daily adventures. Luke does not like to be alone, and will need a secure, safe space when you leave him.
Luke likes treats, walks, and toys and is very curious about other dogs and animals when we’re out. He doesn’t show any leash aggression and is fine with friends dogs who have come over. He also was interested in chasing some squirrels and cats that were in the yard, but his mean foster mom said no to that game. He is very excited when you come home or if it’s time to go outside, but otherwise he’s pretty relaxed. Sometimes he follows me around, other times, he just decides it’s time for a rest.
Luke can sit, but will benefit from continued basic and recall training as he just loves being out in the world and forgets to listen. He’s mostly house trained and has been doing well with being on a schedule.
Despite his starring role in Star Wars, he assures me that Lord Vader is not his father.
Luke is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped. Fill out an application today and a volunteer will be in touch shortly.
