Growing more confident daily in his foster home, Kane is also growing into his puppy paws as he learns what it means to be safe and secure.
Extremely affectionate, he craves physical contact, loves sitting on his foster mom’s lap, being on the couch with her and rolling over for belly rubs. Although he sleeps cozily in his crate at night, he would much prefer cuddling under the covers with his human foster sister. He also loves playing with chew toys and stuffed toys, playing fetch and engaging in games of tug-o-war with his large, doggy foster brother, even napping with him on his bed.
Brimful of puppy energy, he’s always curious, always up for adventure, and especially enjoys going for walks -- despite his tendency to pull on his leash -- and would make an excellent hiking partner. Highly intelligent, eager to please and quick to learn, he rides well in the car, is food and praise motivated, responds to a firm “no-no” when his behaviors, such as barking, need correcting, and is almost fully house trained.
Still fearful of new people and not yet totally at ease with the men in his foster home (dad and teenaged sons), Kane will require patience, gentleness and persistence to put these fears to rest in his adoptive home. He will also need to polish his puppy manners, learn his commands and perfect his leash skills – all in exchange for his own enduring loyalty and love.
Kane is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Kane, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly
