Lita
Lita is a very kind and gentle soul, packaged in the furry body of a terrier mix.
*She is about 8 years old and weighs 20 lbs.
*Likes going for walks and is very well-behaved, including meeting new people on walks or outside the home
*Rides well in the car, and was fine with other dogs during her “freedom ride” (post-rescue)
*Not much is known about her past, except that she was an owner surrender and was recently rescued from a kill shelter
*Does great with older children in her temporary foster home; bonded quickly with young teen (her chosen human)
*Is wary of strange noises and unfamiliar adults; can be vocal about it
*Knows some basic commands, such as “sit”, “come”, possibly other commands; could use obedience classes to build up her confidence
*Seems to be potty-trained, may have a few initial accidents while adjusting to a new home
*Crate-trained and sleeps through the night in her crate near her chosen human
*Preferably would be an only dog; does not get along with other dogs; however, time will tell if she adjusts better
*Has shown interest in the resident guinea pig, so should be monitored with other furry family members; cat experience unknown
Lita is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. If you would like to learn more about Lita, please fill out an adoption application.
